The Weather

Despite being in the middle of a desert-like environment, Hurghada city has a sub-tropical climate that is predominantly dry. The summers are extremely hot while the winters are quite mild and cool. The weather stays warm throughout the year and rainfall is almost unheard of.

Daily highs can hit up to 370C in peak summer while the lowest winter lows are around 140C. From November to April, Hurghada is quite pleasant and a fantastic place to be in.

The Experience

A relatively unknown resort-town, Hurghada city is quite different from the crowded resorts around the world. There isn’t much to do in this city, with water sports like windsurfing, kite-sailing, deep-sea fishing, swimming, and snorkelling or scuba diving being extremely popular amongst tourists. Al-Mahmeya is a protected national park where beautiful coral reefs create some excellent snorkelling spots.

There are many uninhabited off-shore islands that are surrounded by these wonderful reefs. Tourists can hire boats to these islands and spend the entire day without anyone disturbing their privacy. Hurghada has a number of resorts and accommodations in and around the city, each of which adds to the city’s night-life.

There are plenty of local restaurants that serve a variety of food from all over the world, influenced by the settlers from Germany, Spain, Greece, Russia, Poland and much more.
