Coup Des Tartes in PhoenixThinking about finally opening that bottle of wine you have been saving for a special moment? Well, I know a great place you can enjoy it. Coup des Tartes, a great but subtly off the beaten path Bistro south of Highland Avenue in Phoenix, AZ, located in a cozy and historic house.

This bistro has beautiful wooden floors and lots of candles to present a truly romantic French ambiance. This is one of the few restaurants in Phoenix where you can open your fine bottle of wine so this cuts down on the price of your meal considerably. If you bring two bottles, it can literally cut your meal ticket in half.

The menu is tasty and varied and will change seasonally to reflect natural game like fish. Nearby organic produce is used so you know everything is nice and fresh. Some traditional items on the menu that are never going away include: lamb shank that always has just the right amount of spices added; mouth watering filet mignon; and smooth risotto. For a side dish, do not forget about the Yukon mashed potatoes. These are drenched in butter and are so good you may ask for seconds (and thirds).

If you opt to get desert, there are usually five or six tarts baked that day that you can pick from. Your bottle of wine should be gone at this point, but the astonishing banana brulee will take your mind off that.
