On my first trip to Down Under, I did a fair bit of reading on their history. Amazing how the first settlers (prisoners from England) transformed a barren land into such a beautiful country. I read that the British authorities just wanted to “get rid” of these prisoners and that’s the main reason they sent to a far away land.
Although Australia is a fairly “young” country history wise, I thought that that was very interesting.

Fantastic ad. If there is one thing that us Aussies do, is have a laugh at our own expense and the convict thing is definitely something that people like to have a dig at us about.
