A must do when visiting Byron Bay is to walk up to the light house.  With breathtaking views, the walk along the cliff edge is simply amazing. Make sure you keep your eyes peeled for Whales in winter and in the summer you are sure to see dolphins, Manta rays, eagles or turtles.



The Byron Shire has great local markets that occur mostly on a Sunday with food, live music, entertainment, clothing as well as arts and crafts. A must do! If Byron Bay doesn’t have a market on while you’re visiting, rent a car hire and check out the surrounding areas. Not only are they beautiful but they are also easy to navigate around.

The main streets of Byron Bay are great for shopping! Just take a wonder around and you will be amazed at what you will find.

Virgin Blue & Jetstar both fly to Coolangatta Airport (Gold Coast) or Ballina airport. Both airports are similar distances from Byron Bay.  For those who don’t want to hire a car for your visit, you can simply arrange transfers from the airport to the door of your accommodation.

Coming from the eastern coast of the United States, for me, any trip out west has always been an adventure. I can’t put my finger on it but skiing and hiking in the Rocky Mountains is a completely different experience than trekking the trails or boarding down the slopes of mountains in the east.
