Take a trip to Barcelona

breaks in barcelona

With a rich historical background and an amazing nightlife scene, Barcelona is usually high on the priority list of many jet-setters. With so much to do around the city, a weekend in Barcelona is not long enough to explore it entirely.

It still makes for a fantastic weekend break however, and will capture your imagination, making you want to see more and more.

Barcelona is a prime capital amongst Europe’s cultural heritage and is known for its architectural splendour whilst flaunting itself as a modern day city. Although not quite in the same league as Paris or Milan, Barcelona is certainly among Europe’s cities of style and is a heaven for shopaholics.

Shopping in Barcelona offers everything from books to jewels, designer furniture and cava alongside markets offering budget bargains.

For keen sight-seers, heading straight to Barcelona’s medieval centre or towards Gaudi’s ingeniously designed buildings will instantly show the beauty of this city.

La Sagrada Familia is one of Gaudi’s most famous works in Barcelona and is a feast for the eyes and can be admired for an extremely reasonable price.

For thrill seekers, outdoor activities such as go-karting and paintballing are extremely popular throughout the city. These activities usually take place along the coastline, offering magnificent views over the Mediterranean Sea.

For football fanatics, The Nou Camp Stadium should be a definite on the list of things to do. Home to the Barcelona Football Club, a tour or match-day ticket is the perfect treat!

Even during a short stay, one thing you will soon learn about Barcelona is that it’s a city that doesn’t sleep. Whether it’s for a meal in one of Barcelona’s top restaurants or for a long night of dancing, a visit to the city at night is a must.

Regardless of what your interests may be, Barcelona is a city that can fulfil your needs. With its magnificent culture and modern way of life, you’ll soon recognise that one trip there is not enough!
